Trex decking for Holt’s town gardens and country plots
Holt is under an hour from our Norwich yard and one of the places we fit the most Trex decking. Georgian town houses with walled courtyards, barn conversions in the surrounding villages and holiday homes that need to look good without weekly upkeep all suit composite boards far better than softwood.

Low maintenance for homes that are not always occupied
A good proportion of the houses we work on in Holt are second homes or holiday lets, and nobody wants to spend the first day of a weekend sanding and oiling a deck. Trex boards do not rot, splinter or need staining, they are wiped down with soapy water, and the colour is stable in sun and salt air. The residential warranties run up to fifty years, so the deck will outlast most of the kitchen.
Colours that work with flint and brick
Holt is a flint and red-brick town, and the right board colour makes a big difference. Foggy Wharf and Rocky Harbor greys from the Enhance range sit quietly against flint walls, Toasted Sand and Calm Water suit pale rendered cottages, and the Transcend Lineage colours such as Island Mist and Jasper give a richer, oiled-hardwood look for larger country gardens. We bring samples to the site visit so you can see them against your own walls.
Courtyards, levels and steps
Town gardens behind the High Street and Bull Street are often small, walled and on a change of level. We build the sub-frame to suit, so a deck can bridge a step down from the kitchen, wrap around a raised bed or create a level terrace where the ground slopes. Hidden fastenings give a clean surface, and we can add steps, fascia boards and lighting for the evenings.
Conservation area and listed houses
Much of central Holt is a conservation area and many houses are listed. A ground-level deck in a rear garden rarely needs consent, but raised platforms near boundaries can, so we give you the height and footprint in writing to check with North Norfolk District Council before we start. As a Trex Platinum Installer we fit to the manufacturer’s specification, which keeps the warranty valid.

Common Questions About Our Products
Do you fit composite decking in Holt?
Yes. We design, supply and install Trex composite decking across Holt and North Norfolk from our Norwich base, and we are a Trex Platinum Installer, so the boards are fitted to the manufacturer’s specification.
Which Trex colours suit a flint cottage?
Greys such as Foggy Wharf and Rocky Harbor sit well against flint, and warmer tones like Toasted Sand suit pale render and brick. We bring samples to the site visit so you can compare them against your own walls.
Is composite decking really low maintenance?
Yes. Trex boards do not rot, warp or need staining or oiling. A wash with soapy water once or twice a year is all they need, which is why they suit holiday homes and second homes in Holt.
Will I need planning permission for a deck in Holt?
A low, ground-level deck in a rear garden usually does not, but raised decks or those in the conservation area or at a listed house can. We provide the dimensions so you can check with North Norfolk District Council before work starts.
