Composite Decking in Blakeney

Built for lets and second homes

A lot of Blakeney properties are rented out for the seal trips and the coast path, and the deck has to look good every changeover without anyone sanding or oiling it. Trex composite is cleaned with soapy water, does not splinter and keeps its colour, so it suits an owner who is only here some weekends. Residential warranties run up to fifty years, which is worth having on a property you may sell on.

Colours against flint and marsh

The soft greys of Foggy Wharf and Rocky Harbor sit beautifully with knapped flint and the grey-green of the marsh, while Toasted Sand and Calm Water suit painted and rendered cottages on the High Street. For a larger house with a view across to the Point, the Transcend Lineage boards in Island Mist or Rainier give a more natural, varied grain. We bring full-size samples so you can check them against your own walls.

Small courtyards and tricky access

Cottages off the quay often have tiny walled courtyards reached through the house or a narrow passage. We pre-cut the sub-frame and bring the boards through by hand, so there is no damage and the job is done in a day or two. Steps, built-in benches, planters and lighting can all be worked into a small space.

Conservation area and the coast

Blakeney, Cley and Morston are conservation areas inside the Norfolk Coast National Landscape. A low rear deck rarely needs consent, but raised platforms or anything visible from the quay can, so we give you the height and footprint in writing to check with North Norfolk District Council before we start.
